SimBin – the company is very well known… in certain circles. She makes car simulators. Those with real physics, a realistic control model and not fictional, but real racing tracks. The “terrible” authenticity, of course, repels the mass user, but among connoisseurs of the genre, the games GTR 2 and GT Legends are not just loved, but are considered almost a standard.
Race On – addition to the next continuation of the series. Race 07 is like the second part of Race, and On is just an expansion that adds something more to the game already stuffed with cars and tracks. It’s a bit confusing, don’t you think?? Everything is fine. The developers deliberately confuse the buyer, but here’s why?
The scheme has long been known to everyone
To make a simple sequel-addition to https://busrcasino.co.uk/ any game, you don’t need to think much. There is a standard program. You can add a couple of new types of equipment and several cards to the strategy. A shooter will get by with three fresh guns and one level, while role-playing action films get fifth city and two new heroes. Making an addition to the race is the easiest thing. We put several cars in the garage, draw a new track – and now we can sell the “new product”. Race On – just such a case. Simbin took Race 07, added STCC, spiced it up with American cars and a couple of tracks in the USA and… that’s all, actually. There is no GT class, as if there was no GTR Evolution. But there are lightweight Caterham sports cars from the add-on of the same name… In general, what’s new??
Few four-wheeled friends were brought in – if you don’t count the various colors and finishes, then there were only a few of them five things. These are the Cadillac CTS-V, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Dodge Charger SRT8 and lightweight IFM cars that look like Formula 1 cars. There are only two new tracks – Laguna Seca and Road America. Everything else was present in past additions one way or another. For example, most of the routes and competitions remained from the Official WTCC Game.
This is where the list of innovations ends… Amazing? No, basically. What distinguished us SimBin this year? Race Pro in February. Exclusively for Xbox 360, so we’re not interested. What then? Volvo: The Game, which can’t even be called a game. Now Race On is a typical content pack, soulless and gray. Is it the crisis that is to blame again??
U SimBin, Apparently, things are really bad if they gave birth without a twinge of conscience Race On. The engine is still the same. It’s not friendly with shaders, so even though the world uses beautiful high-resolution textures, it still looks like cardboard. Carefully created car models are left untouched – in NFS: Shift there are more of them and they look better. A pack of new American championships – who needs them?? Except for the Americans. And the selection of cars, by the way, again makes one think about “hidden” advertising. The financial situation seems to be improving, which cannot be said about the US auto industry.
Only physics deserves a kind word – the game is still an honest simulator. You can steer with the mouse and take turns, but without full-fledged gas, brake and, preferably, clutch pedals, play as intended developer – it won’t work.
Sad outcome
U Race On there are virtues – it’s still a simulator. But who needs it, what the developers hope for? There is nothing for the casual player to do here. Anyone who came just to ride a couple of tracks will be bored – there is no dynamics and excitement of the arcade. The plot, achievements, economic model and a spreading tree of improvements – all this is not here. Nothing but the driving process itself… Obviously, with such a cool and cute NFS: Shift, the game simply has nothing to argue with, although the battle, mind you, is no longer on the arcade field. Even in the niche of purebred simulators Race On failed. The innovations it offers are too minor to warrant paying again for the same game.
Pros: it is based on a full-fledged car simulator.
Cons: outdated technical level; almost complete absence of music; few innovations.
